Greetings.
This week we read at class the politics of English of our university, the national program of English which the government developed and published last year, and what does say the education law about foreign languages.
In first place I have to say that every single thing exposed in these documents were terrific however in paper things looks too good but in reality... they fail. I hope at least that many of the things these documents want to do will become a reality to us and not because it is an economical imposition but because it will be a great opportunity to all of us to have a chance of going forward, and not just suggestions and proposals that does not get accomplish.
I deeply doubt of what does pretend the government with this "program" and if would not be just dying words as they always do.
Those are just my considerations please do not take it personal.
Question time:
1.Do you actually think our gobernment care for education (in this case the learning of a foreing language like English)? I mean for real?
2.Why do you think the teacher Jean Paul showed this to us? Maybe it is because we are being evaluated by the education ministry...
3. Why do they showed us this documents now and not at the beginning of the bachelor? and also why we did not care to look for this before?
Hi Káiser, I hope you are doing well!
ResponderEliminarFirst of all I want to say I like your considerations about that program, you are a sincere and critical person and that's good (at least for me).
1. Well, I think they are trying to get into a trend. They want to please some worldwide ideas, because it seems more important to learn a foreign language than to perfect the proper one.
2. I think he wants us to know a little bit more about our context, it is necessary to know the Public Policies implemented by the Ministry of Education about our career, the other professions and education in general... and because the Faculty asked him to do it, hahaha...
3. I cannot answer that, what I write in this question are only speculations. Maybe we did not care this topic before because we are always busy doing unnecessary tasks.
I will keep your answers. Thanks.
EliminarDo not take this wrong, but you should check spelling in this post, because there are some misspelled words. I know you are a good writer and I know you did not mean to misspell. :D
ResponderEliminarwhere are they? please help me.
EliminarE.g: 'goberment' and 'goverment' (the right word is 'government'), 'developted' (the right word is 'developed' ), 'english' (remember, in English, languages begin in capital letters.), 'begining' (the right word is 'beginning'), 'documments' ('documents'), 'this documents' ('these', because it is a plural noun). I hope I helped you :D
Eliminarwhat about now?
Eliminar1. Well, actually we think that nowadays government is more conscious about education and of course in English as a second language, maybe because the importance of learning the most important language in the world is necessary for the global changes (globalization).
ResponderEliminar2. Probably he wanted to share with us the politics of our career and although it was a bit boring, it's very important for us to know about those bases and of course about English's programs like 'Colombia very well'.
3. That question is difficult to answer, all we can say is that it would have been better if they had shown it in first semester.
Well, actually, I do not quite understand the first question, I do not understand that opinion wants to say with respecto to the government, can you explain me please?
ResponderEliminarPersonally, I think that the teacher showed us that because we do not seek what really concerns us in our career and we do not see what really we must keep in mind from the beginning.
Hello my dear friend,
ResponderEliminar1. I believe they are awaking and understanding that the world is going global and for development we must adapt to that and also start not only exporting products but culture, ideas, knowledge and so import by sharing all of this set by communicating and what is better to understand a culture that being able to study by its language, and I think that eventough we don't have the best politics on that, we're starting a great change, I hope our teachers and us promote as much as we can.
2.There are two possibilities, he was obey to do that by our Dean by the way we're in evaluation process by ministry, yet I'd believe also he's concern of that and he's interested on us to understand the politics too as a important part of teaching, and it is focused on our area which makes it more important, because if we want to be critic we must know and should have analized the politics. So any was the purpose, it is creating on us a politic position through criticism, and that's not bad at all.
3.Well my dear friend, sometimes there are things we could understand if we don't have the knowledge and maybe that kind of things are better for people who is a little bit more involved than in first semester, as you know some people is sure about the career, other are not, and is kind of an introduction. For me it is better to start analyzing from a better developed point of view, like in third semester where we have read more, and have a little bit more awareness of many educational aspects...Further maybe we must start treating it seriously, this is like kind of that introduction my friend.
Thank you.
Hello dear :)
ResponderEliminarMan...I'm just laughing so much reading some comments.
Ok, now the questions:
1. Our Colombian goverment is not really interested on education but about this program I really don't know, because I am the kind of person who believes that things could change one day, so I'm kind of optimistic.
2. Because they are watching us man...Just kidding, maybe because we have to be conscious about what is happening in our country with all the related with education! because we are supossed to be on that plan,
3.We didn't care becase we didn't know about it, lol, and they didn't showed us because they are thinking about teaching us like empty bowls.
1- A little, not as much as war, of course
ResponderEliminar2- We have to be put on context
3-I dont know, And I dont wanna think, Beacuse when I think I am remember teddy
Mister, Kaiser.
ResponderEliminarHope you are fine.
At first, l would like advise something in relation with this post and others that you did already: please, to be realistic is fundamental. Sometimes it's better to be objective than subjective while you are writing and, most of all, for academic purposes; your post are good but it seems many other outlooks that, actually, look like whether they were taken from your viewpoint but not from the real "Facts"; take into account our perspectives.
Now, your post:
1. Yes, it does. the government is worry about the education even whether it does not seem to. It has some policies and it's taken in consideration what the academic community advise in relation with teaching languages (e.g. Marco Común Europeo).
2. He did it because he was asked to do it from Faculty, it was a mandatory for all Professors.
3. Well, I consider it's because at the beginning we do not have some basis that have to be with education policies.
Thanks, I did not think pretty well this one. But after all I would like to know which is the other post. So I can rethink and rewrite what I posted.
